It was rowdy. That’s what she needed, Noise and lots of it. The bar was filled with drunken truckers, bikers and all those guys you wouldn’t want to meet in a dark alley but he didn’t care. Jouty sat there; she couldn’t believe that her parents had actually disowned her. Well that was their problem. She was free to do whatever she wanted. She could be whatever she wanted but where would she start. She had nothing she was penniless, homeless and friendless. All her friends were part of this elite circle and now that she had been disowned they wouldn’t even acknowledge her. Jouty looked around and all she saw were the blue collar of society. The part of society that her parents had never allowed her to see. She had been spoilt and she didn’t know what she was going to do. Surely there was one decent person in this bar. She looked around once again but there was no one who looked approachable.

Roshni looked around. Why had she been sent here to do her research? All she could see was drunks. Her eyes roved for an empty table when she saw her. There she was like a rose in between a bouquet of carnations. She was wearing  white trousers with a teal top and grey cardigan. On her feet she was wearing Alexander Mc Queen’s . Roshni could spot those anywhere after all her and her sister always went on window shopping trips to try new shoes.  She was the only decent person around so Roshni decided to go and sit with her and start her research.

“Hi” a voice came out to her.  She saw the shoes first. Nude sling backs. Not bad Jouty thought. As she looked up she took in Khaki pants and Denim top. The scarf added a classy touch. This girl knew about fashion.

“Hi” Jouty replied taking the out stretched hand.  “Have a seat” she said afraid if she didn’t invite her to sit this girl would run away.  Jouty watched her sit and plop her bag on the table.

“What brings you here?” Jouty asked her.

“I have to do some research for a beer ad. I hate those ads because I abhor drinking but what can I do. Got to earn a living.” The girl replied. “By the way I am Roshni”

“I am Jouty. So you are like an ad maker?” Jouty asked.

“Yes kind of, I am just doing this part time because my sister and I kind of really need the money.” Roshni replied. “What brings you to a place like this?”

“I got disowned, my parents have kicked me out so right now I am penniless, homeless and all the lesses in that I can’t think of.” Jouty replied dragging her fingers through her hair.

Roshni felt for the girl sitting in front of her. She thought about how she could help her. Would Baji agree? Oh well if baji had a problem then she would deal with it then.

“So Jouty would you like to stay with me?” Roshni asked

“Wait… What?” Jouty looked at her shocked “Do come to bars to pick girls up because I have to warn you I don’t roll that way”

Roshni smiled and then started to laugh. “Oh my God… Jouty I don’t roll that way either… I just have a habit of bringing home strays and my Baji can never say no to me”

“So you live with someone?” Jouty asked

“Yes I live with my half-sister, she is older than me and she moved out a couple of years ago. So after I finished studying I moved in with her.” Roshni explained.

“And she won’t mind?” Jouty asked looking at Roshni suspiciously

“Jouty once you meet her you will know why she won’t mind… Yes she will throw a fuss but she is the biggest softy… and you will grow to love her…” Roshni replied with a tender smile on her face.

“Well I don’t have a choice, but one wrong move and I know martial arts” Jouty replied her eyes trained on Roshni. Even though Roshni was a stranger her gut instinct told her that she wasn’t a bad person.

“Yes boss” said Roshni laughing. She had a feeling Jouty would bring a different element to their grotty but homey apartment. “Should we go?” she asked

“Lead the way” Jouty replied picking her bag and standing up.
