Author's Note:started a long time ago. I didn't want to post it till I wrote at least couple of parts. That might never happen so here it is, the first part!
Part 1
"Don't like it, don't like it, don't like it" Jouty went through the dresses one by one and tossed them on the bed. ".. and don't like it" she threw that on the bed too.
"Just pick one already" Naina didn't try to mask the irritation in her voice. "I don't want to be here all day" Naina said as she tried to concentrate on her book.
"I can't just..pick one" Jouty went to her bed and sat down on top of the clothes. "What do I do?" She looked at KC
"I don't know" KC said as she went through some more clothes in the closet.
"What would you do?" Jouty asked
"She wouldn't be like you. It's just a dinner, not the end of the world. You can wear anything." Naina answered before KC could reply.
KC turned and softly smiled at Jouty. " Don't worry I understand." And she did understand.
A big smile crossed Jouty's face. "Then come shopping with me!!"
"I can't, I have to pick up Roshni." KC eyed the clock on the wall really quick.
"Oh come on. Just tell Yunho to pick her up today."
"I can't do that, he is busy." KC replied as she picked up the clothes from the bed.
"I really need this..." Jouty pleaded. "I am sure he can make time for his daughter just for one day."
"He is busy." KC repeated, as she started hanging the dress in the closet.
"Can you just ask him?"
"I won't ask him."
Jouty quickly moved toward the coffee table. She quickly grabbed KC's phone and went through the call list, luckily Yunho was first and she pressed call.
"No!" KC shreiked.
"Already done" Jouty grinned. She moved around the table so KC would not be able to reach for the phone.
"End the call, I told you he is busy." KC hissed.
"How busy can a man be to not pick up his wife's call?" Naina asked as closed the book and put it on the table. It was obvious she couldn't read til this dress matter was solved.
Jouty heard Yunho on the other line and quickly handed the phone to KC. "Ask him!"
KC's eyes widened in shock.
"Hello?" KC said
"KC?" Yunho sounded confused. She would never call at this hour? "Is Roshni okay?"
"Yeah" KC slowly walked out of the room. "Yeah she is fine"
"Oh thank god!" Yunho replied. " Why did you call then?"
A thousand thoughts ran through her head.
Maybe because she missed him
Maybe because he came home really late last night and he didn't really talk to her
Maybe because he left too early she didn't get to see him this morning
So she missed his voice
"Uhm, do you think you could pick up Roshni from school today?"
"I don't think so, look I have a meeting to go to in few minutes. I will see you at home." Yunho replied and hung up before she could say anything.
"Bye..I guess" KC sighed and pressed the end call button to end a call that he already ended. She stared at her phone and the one minute conversation with her husband replayed in her head. As usual he forgot to ask her if she was okay, if something happened to her, or how was she, or if she was busy and had plans. He just assumed everything is fine for her. KC hoped it was that, sometimes it scared her that maybe he didn't assume anything.
"Hey.." Naina appeared in front of the door."You okay?"
KC nodded her head. "Yeah!" She forced a perfect smile.
Naina started at her for few seconds. She knew she was lying. "Go home" Naina softly smiled. "I will find her a dress before she eats everyone's brain."
KC couldn't help but laugh at that.
She quickly hugged Naina and headed toward the door.
"Jouty jaan have to go, school ends in an hour." She called over her shoulder.
"Now how do I find a dress?" Jouty asked
Naina took a deep breath. She was about to commit world's most dangerous mistake. "You can go through my closet."
"Baby are you okay?" KC asked when Roshni coughed for the third time on the dinner table.
"Yeah.." Roshni nodded her head.
KC touched her forehead.
"I am okay Mom." Roshni said as she played with her food. "I wonder if Dad will come home soon." She asked in a low voice.
KC wanted to smile and reassure Roshni, but she didn't feel like lying to her daughter. She didn't know when Yunho would come home. KC gently patted Roshni's back.
Roshni and KC heard the doorbell rang. Roshni looked up at KC with wide excited eyes " That must be Dad!" Roshni said as she tried to get out of the chair.
"No babe. Finish eating. I will go open the door" KC said.
She could feel her heartbeats quicken with every step. KC quickly opened the door.
"Hey!" KC greeted him with a smile.
"Is she sleeping?" Yunho asked as he entered the house.
"Dad!!" Roshni squeaked. She got down from her chair and ran to Yunho.
"Easy there love" Yunho said as he smiled at his daughter.
"Why?" Roshni asked firmly planting her fists on her little waist.
KC smiled at the pair. She didn't bother answering her husband's question as he could clearly see she wasn't sleeping.
"Because..." Yunho picked up Roshni and placed her on the chair. "I wouldn't want you to get hurt."
KC sat on the chair across from them.
"Oh!" Roshni frowned in disapproval. "You are so dumb Dad. I am not going to fall from a chair."
Yunho laughed. "I guess I am, now finish your food."
Roshni quickly stuffed her mouth. When she was done chewing and swallowing she smiled. "Done!!" She opened her mouth to prove it.
"Good job" Yunho placed a quick kiss on her head. "Go to your room love and I will go wash up, and then come say good night." Yunho headed to his room.
Roshni looked at KC. "Momma, will you eat now that Dad is home?"
KC nodded. Roshni smiled. "I will go to my room then." Roshni carefully got down from her chair and ran to her room.
KC grabbed Roshni's plate and placed it on the sink.
"KC.." Yunho called.
KC looked toward her room.
"I already had dinner with my new clients. You don't have to put the food out for me."
KC remained still for few seconds. Then she put the food away.

I love naina's understanding and Jouty's determination.
As usual Jouty you have done a splendid Job of catching my interest. The writing is good and you did a good job of making the Hero of the story look like a total jerk... :) It gives feeling of how she feels and also how the other characters feel. Please continue soon. I am looking forward to the next chapter.
