She had loved flowers from when she was very young. Her mother had been a florist and Naina had loved it when her mom brought flowers home. She looked at the house now, it looked bear. She had just laid her mom to rest and now without flowers it was like mom’s spirit had gone. Naina couldn’t feel her, she couldn’t feel her essence. She stood there tears running down her cheek. She went to the back of the house and walked into the garden. Mom had tended well to the garden and now it would be her job to make sure the garden stayed that way.
“Hi there” a voice intruded her thoughts. Naina looked to her left and saw a tall asian dude looking at her.
“Sorry do i know you?” She asked wishing he would go away.
“No but if i am not mistaken you must be Naina.” He said gently “ I am sorry for your loss, she was a beautiful person. I loved helping her with the garden and flowers”
“Helped her? Mom never allowed anyone near her flowers or her garden” Naina looked at the man suspiciously.
“I am your mom’s neighbour, one day i was watching her stuggle with the weeds and offered to help” He said, “at first she said no but i insisted and from that day every day in the morning i helped her with the garden. Soon she started to teach me about flower arranging and now i attend night classes. She talked a lot about you.
Naina looked at this man who used to spend every morning with her mom. “I bet she complained i never had time for her garden”
“Nope she used to tell me that you were her most special flower and now i see why, by the way i am Junsu”. He said looking straight into Naina’s eyes.
At the point in time she felt a connection, she felt the wind like her mom’s spirit was there. She closed her eyes to cherish the feeling and when she opened her eyes she looked up to see Junsu smiling.
“You were the one she was always trying to get me to date, but i was always to busy with work.” Naina said suddenly realising the subtle messages her mom had been passing to her. “Will you still come and look after the garden?” she asked
“Sure anytime, all you have to do is knock on my door,” He replied with a smile.
“Next week I am starting a charity in mom’s name, will you please attend it with me?” Naina asks shyly.
“Are you asking me out?” Junsu asked mischievously
“Uhh... Yes i think i am” Replied Naina
“I would be honoured to” Junsu said bowing his head.
That was the start of her beautiful, loving and cherishing relationship with Junsu.
Omg I love it!! So beautiful and beautiful and .... I'm still in awe. We really do have a garden in front of the house. We grow our own mint leaves. I'm sure Naina the character understands why her mom would try to arrange a date between her and Junsu. CAUSE HE ISMAD HOT and so sweet. only thing I would never think is Junsu as a tall asian dude. But this is Naina the character and that's how I read it as. LOVED IT!!! *gives baji a big hug!*
ReplyDeleteand this was also such a poetic oneshot. So pure and rich. with a little bit of mischievous Naina at the end. lol
