Author's Note: I know I don't write a lot, but I tend to start a lot of things for Naina. I just can't bring myself to finish them because they never seem good enough for her :( As a HUGE HUGE HUGE triangle fan I decided I wanted to do a triangle. With Baji's dance instructor random wish here it is. Ignore all mistakes I just wrote it, I don't even have my editors.
Naina took a sip of her tea, without breaking eye contact. "Really?"
"Really what?" KC asked.
"You guys made this whole thing into a game?" Her eyebrow arched slightly with curiosity.
"Yeah." KC replied softly. She didn’t want to do this.
Naina placed her tea on the floor wondering if she should ask her to continue. She had to admit, she was intrigued, but did she want to know the whole story? After all it was about her Fiancé. " Go on." She decided it probably wasn't serious.
"Are you sure?" KC asked cautiously.
"Yeah!" Naina reassured her. "If my friend and fiancé had a past I think I should know about it. Go on." Naina gave her a small smile.
"Okay, so..well, we became friends fast. I guess we would have never been friends if it wasn't for the game we were playing. It was just that he wanted to win so badly and prove to everyone that he was indeed a player."
" I can honestly see that happening." Naina laughed. "He is still so competitive! But a player?" Naina looked at her in surprise " I always felt he is a bit too serious, and even strict to be a player."
"Yeah. It's in his nature, well was in his nature to be a player. He felt he could win anything and anyone. Our friends started betting on us. The person who would fall..." KC paused
" in love..?" Naina mentioned the words, and noted how uncomfortable KC was with this storytelling.
"Yeah." Out of the many awkward situations in KC's life, she decided this was one of them. " well the person who would..fall in love first would be punished.
Naina burst out laughing. " So who won, or should I say who lost, since that seemed to be the objective of the game you two were playing."
KC waited few seconds, " I lost," she said plainly.
Naina let out a soft breath. She didn't even realize she was holding in her breath. " Oh!" She didn't know if it was just her imagination but it felt like KC seemed sad. Still she felt a little satisfaction knowing it was her who lost, and not him who lost his heart. "I am sorry." Naina said softly.
KC didn't reply right away, then she smiled and said " It's fine." She got up from the floor. Can we go back to dancing now?
"yeah we better get to that. Because he can't dance, if I can't dance well enough to cover for him at our wedding we will become the scene of the year." Naina muttered as KC pulled her by the hand. "He is a really bad dancer you know, it's like he is allergic to dancing."
KC simply nodded her head and smiled. Because in all honesty she didn't think anyone knew how he hated dancing the way she did. That was his punishment, if he lost the game he had to learn how to dance.
Naina readjusted her feet on his lap. In past weeks, she realized this was her most favorite position in the world. She liked watching him work away on his laptop while she lied on the sofa watching tv with both of her feet comfortably placed on his lap.
"Babe.." Naina whined.
"Yes babe" He continued to type away without looking.
"It's supposed to be movie night! Stop working" Naina lightly kicked him.
Seung Hyun smiled. "I will be done soon."
Naina rolled her eyes. That's what he said an hour ago. She couldn't even be angry at him. It just didn't work. She studied his handsome profile. As if he wasn't handsome enough, he looked absolutely delicious when he worked like that. Only if he loved her as much as what he was doing on the laptop. " So..I talked to KC today."
Then she noticed. His jaw slightly tightened. His fingers stopped typing for seconds, and his eyes...something about his eyes, she couldn't really tell from the side, she just knew something changed in his eyes.
"And.." He voice was still.
"Nothing she just told me about the game you guys played couple of years ago." Naina said as she sat up, pulling her feet off his lap.
He smiled. It wasn't his usual smile. It was the type of smile that told her that he was remembering the events. He started typing again, at least made the attempt to type again. "What did she say?" He asked.
"That she lost, after falling for you." She noted that he stopped typing once again.
This time he looked at her. "Did she now?"
Naina felt her words get caught in her throat. Was he sad? Because even now that the side of mouth was slightly curved into a smile he looked sad, and she doesn't ever remember him looking sad. He didn't smile all the time like some foolish little boys in love, but he was never sad. At least she has never seen him sad. "Can we watch the movie now?" Naina ignored all the thoughts in her head. He wasn't sad, and even if he was a little sad, she would make him really really happy.
Seung Hyun nodded. He closed his laptop and put it away.
Later that night when she fell asleep on his lap, he turned off the movie. He didn't really care for movies much, but it was something she liked to do. He sat there on the sofa for the longest time.
"She didn't lose, did she?" Naina asked very softly. "It was you who lost."
Seung Hyun didn't know how to answer. "Nain.."
"I know." She interrupted him. "I can notice things you know. I watched her as she told me about the game you guys played she looked sad. I knew at that moment whatever feelings she had for you was still there." She felt him straighten himself. She got up slowly and sat beside him. She didn't want to look at him just yet. She waited for him to say something but he sad nothing. " Then I noticed you." She smiled bitterly. "If I thought KC looked a little sad while telling me about you guys, I don't even have words to describe what yours looked like." She turned her body and faced him. " I can live with knowing my friend may still harbor some feelings for my fiancé, but I can't go on knowing my fiancé may still be in love with my friend."
He opened his mouth to say something but he didn't quite know the appropriate words for this situation.
"Idiot!" Naina pretended to be angry. "You can't even lie and say you don't love her, can you?" Naina smiled, ignoring her heart that was breaking by the second.
Out of all the things she thought he would say such as I am sorry, I am stupid and don't deserve you, he said " I can't."
KC walked into her dance studio with her heels in one hand. She needed those to be taller than Naina today. TOP, she corrected herself Seung Hyun was tall, he no longer used his nickname. She would never be as tall as him no matter which heels she wore, but at least she could make the effort when she taught Naina how to dance with a partner.
She heard the door open behind her as she connected her ipod to the speaker. "Glad you are not late today. Bachata is hard work. I can't believe you picked Bachata." Actually she could believe, who else would pick such a sensual dance other than her.
"Why can't you believe it?"
Him. KC stopped shuffling through her ipod trying to find the right song, and turned around. There he was in all his glory. His hair was still wet from his morning shower, black pants, black shirt. She frowned noticing the first few buttons were unbuttoned. "Where is Naina?"
"Not here." He grinned.
"What do you mean not here? What are you doing here?"
"Considering I am in a dance studio I am here to dance of course." He smirked. He noted with pleasure that she straightened herself after his reply.
"I can't teach you without her being present?"
"Why?"
"Because the dance contract is for both of you."
"Well you taught her all these days without me, so why can't you teach me for one day without her? Do I need to talk to studio manager about this"
KC was not pleased. She knew what dancing with him meant, she didn't want to dance with him. " She shook her head.
"Okay then, lets start with Bachata!" He said with a big smile.
"Uh, no Bachata for you" ever ever ever. Not between them.
"You said Bachata." He reminded her.
"I was wrong."
"No Naina also said Bachata. Do I need to call the manager?"
"Grrr" KC pressed the play button on her ipod, and stomped over to him. "whatever! Let's get to it!!"
He smiled in satisfaction.
KC stood in front of him. She took in a deep breath, she could do this. She took his hand and placed it on her back "lightly" she warned him. He simply grinned. She took in another deep breath, and placed her other hand in his. She was awed at the sight of her hand in his. Her hand was so small compared to his. She started moving to the moving and softly nudged his body to move. After a minute she realized he wasn't bad. His body followed the rhythm of body pretty well. She raised their hands together and lets his hand run down her back. not good not good not good. She turned around, once again letting him run his hand over her body. She placed his hand on her waist and he pulled her closer. Damn Naina she thought. Even after knowing they had something in past she did this. KC backed up toward him till there was no space left between them. She could feel the heat radiate from his body to hers, or the other way around. Whatever it was, it was really hot. Their waist moved in rhythm. KC bit her lower lip to stop herself from doing something like screaming. She felt himself lower his head, she could feel his warm breath on her neck.
"What are you doing?" KC asked.
"What shampoo do you use?" He asked plainly.
KC turned around and faced him, still moving. She repositioned her body where one of her leg was between his thighs. "It's none of your business" She replied quickly.
TOP swiftly turned her around where her was once again touching his body. He wrapped his arm around her waist, still moving to the song. "I will find out someday."
"This is the wrong move!" KC said as struggled to go back to her planned routine.
"You leg was to close to my little man down there, not that I mind, but this doesn't seem like safe atmosphere."
"Why are you doing this?" KC asked.
"Why am I dancing?" TOP asked playfully.
"No! this, why are you here, talking to me like this. I know you better." She has seen him, he would never flirt with another woman when he was with Naina. "You are deliberately trying to get close to me, why..."
"We broke up." TOP interrupted her.
"What? Why?" Guilt crept into her.
"Why do you think?"
"Oh My god! I am so sorry. I did not mean for it to happen. I can talk to her." She started walking toward her phone on the floor.
"KC" he gently grabbed her hand. "We didn't break up because of what you said, we broke up because she realized I loved you." He couldn't believe how easily he said those words.
"You love me?" KC asked in shock.
"Yes, I said this two years ago."
KC closed the distance between them. "I know, but I thought you were joking, I thought you were playing with me because you knew how I felt, and I thought you just wanted to end it..I thoug.." Before she could finish her words she felt his lips on hers. They seemed so familiar that it made her want to cry. He loved her and she was such a fool for losing him. She would've lost him forever if it wasn't for Naina. She felt tears escape her eyes. He must have felt it too because he slowly broke away from the kiss. "You love me." She said softly as she smiled.
"Of course I do."
"Now what do we do?" KC asked
"Hmm, let's play a game." TOP grinned mischievously.
