She knew he watched her. It was very different from the way Nichkhun watched her. Nichkhun always made it obvious to everyone else in the world that his eyes were on her. He wasn't like Nichkhun. He was exactly the opposite. Others might not notice, but there had not been a single moment she could have failed to notice. She hated him.

When she was alone she wondered what their next confrontation would be like. She tried to think of all the annoying, but witty things he would say, and what she would say in reply. She knew she couldn't win with him, but she tried. She would always think of smart replies ahead of time, just so she could best him. However, at the time of need, when she would stand in front of him, she would forget those words. Those eyes, it must be because of those eyes. After their spar she would walk away with her fists clenched, knowing fully well his eyes were on her. Such incidents would reaffirm her belief, she..hated him.

She did not think of him at night. She thought of Khun, she thought of the life they would have together. She thought of their dreams, dreams he wasn't a part of. She thought of all the places they would go to, places where he wouldn't be. It would be nice to not see him and hear him. Even as these thoughts ran through her mind, she saw his face at the back of her mind. She didn't wish to hear him again but wondered what his voice might sound like tomorrow. Just like that she would fall asleep every night knowing she hated him.

She found him too beautiful for her liking, or anyone's liking. Too cocky, by far, to gain her trust and become a friend. He was much too proud and often intimidating. At times she wanted to wreck  havoc in his heart, if he had one. She wanted to strip him bare and break him open. She wished to make a beggar out of him. And her skin burned from imagining it. She hated that feeling, and she hated him.

She hated when he came near her. He seemed all too composed. She wanted to see that carefully guarded emotions unleashed. She wanted to go to him and put an end to this whole thing. But Nichkhun always stood between them like a shield, and her heart ached. She didn't know why. She just knew she hated him.

  1. Wow...I am blown away by this.

This was beyond beautiful. I can't think of a word to describe it but it was amazing.

Hate is such a strong word and emotion but here Roshni feels conflicted. She hates him but also loves him. I felt that she was trying to convince herself that she hated him. In a twisted way she loves him too and he sort of gives her a reason and allows her to grow and be the way she is.

I love your characterization of all three. Even though Nichkhun is only mentioned, I got a feel of his personality.

I hope what I said made sense. =]
