Disclaimer: I hope this makes up for my promises of writing a story for you baji. I got inspired for this story in two ways. I was doing spanish homework and saw a headline on a people's magazine.
Ella se levantó, se vistió, y salió de la casa.
She got up, dressed, and left the house.
“What time did she leave?”
Mike is sitting down clutching onto a hand-made scarf that KC made for him.
“Mike.” Naina kneels down at Mike’s level.
Mike looks at Naina in tears not knowing how to respond. He doesn’t understand what’s happening. Is this even for real?
“Naina… do you think it was because I didn’t give her what she wanted.” Mike is inaudible and if Naina wasn’t sitting close to him she wouldn’t have understood what he said.
“Do you think she wanted more? I told her to give me time. I would fulfill her wish.” Mike wiped his tears.
“Mike, I don’t understand. She was happy when I spoke to her yesterday afternoon… she said that she finally got what she wanted and was going to share the news with you.”
Naina wipes the tears off her best friend’s face; he attempts to smile at Naina but fails.
“You know Nain, I think I was never part of KC’s plan.” Mike gets up slowly and tosses the scarf in the trash.
“She got up, dressed, and left the house. This was a house for KC, never a home. She never wanted to make it a home.”
Naina gets up and walks towards Mike who is now near the window
“Then what did she want?”
Mike smiles bitterly towards Naina “A baby.”

ReplyDeleteThis was absolutely heart wrenching and sad. I just wanna Hug him right now. Its written with emotion and I really enjoyed the way it pulled me. i felt like i was in that room watching Mike cry.
